Choosing between these three switch types can be tricky, especially if you don't know the differences between them. Basically, while keyboards with linear switches feel smooth, those with clicky switches make loud noises.
Asimilarity between the Cherry MX Red and Brown switches is the actuation force (45 cN). This is, in fact, the smallest actuation force parameter in all Cherry MX switches. For reference, a normal Cherry MX switch will sell for less than a dollar each while budget switches can sell for about $0.30/each.
